Bill’s Favorite Links

Every decent personal website needs a good collection of links. I had thought about adding a “link of the week” section, but I would never keep up with it. I decided to create a page that I would add links to as I found ones worthy enough to share.

If you find a broken link, please let me know so that I can fix it or remove it. All of these links will open in a new browser window (or in a modern browser, the link wil open in a new tab).

Funny Places (some may be considered crude):

  • Muffin Films
This site has 12 short flash films done by Amy Winfrey (her other work is even stranger). My favorite films are #6, #8, and #12.
  • Angry Alien Productions
Famous movies reenacted in 30 seconds by bunnies. Yes, I meant what I typed. The best films are: Jaws, Titanicand Pulp Fiction.
  • Homestar Runner
This site is very strange, but you can find some funny stuff. Check out the e-mail section (e-mail answered by Strong Bad).
  • Lord of the Peeps
Think peeps only come out at Easter? Well, think again!
  • Ron Mexico Name Generator
If you are looking for the perfect alias, you will find it here.
  • Where The Hell Is Matt?
His dancing in remote places is just goofy enough to be enjoyable! I love this guy!!!!

Interesting Blogs & Info:

  • Reality Blurred
If you like reality TV, this is the BEST spot to find all the news and gossip on every show!
  • The Week
This is the BEST news magazine that you will ever get. The website is so-so, but the magazine rocks! Think of it as Cliff Notes for the news.
  • Newseum
The Newseum is a museum for news and journalism. The website allows you to view the actual front page of over 700 newspapers across the world, every day.
  • Boing Boing
Boing Boing is a collection of interesting stories from around The Net. You can spend hours on Boing Boing.
  • Damn Interesting
Daily articles about diverse “damn interesting” facts, ideas and events from the past, present, or (anticipated) future.

Best Macintosh, iPhone and iPod sites

  • Mac Daily News
There are a ton of Mac news sites and many are really good. At the end of the day, I always find my way back to the Mac Daily News. Yes it is biased and the writers can be very passionate (read that as “opinionated”), but I love them anyway!
  • Mac News Network
My second destination for Apple news and info. The site has a much better design (look and feel) than Mac Daily News. A good reference for news, tips, hacks and more.
  • iPhone Hacks
A wonderful place for  Apple iPhone Hacks, Applications, Downloads, Software, JailBreaking & Unlocking News, Reviews, News & Rumors. You don’t need to be looking to “do something naughty” with your iPhone to appreciate this site.
  • iPhone Lounge
The self-proclaimed “world’s leading resource” for iPod news, reviews, forums, tips, tutorials, and software. When there is iPhone and iPod news, iPhone Lounge usually has good information to report!
  • Open Source Mac
A simple list of the best free and open source software for Mac OS X. It is not a listing of every piece of free software for OS X, but it is a really good one!

Links to Friends and Family

  • The Frat Pack Tribute Site
Kevin Crossman is a friend of mine. He created and maintains a tribute site for The Frat Pack, a group of actors who have appeared in numerous films together.  The core members of the Frat Pack are Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Jack Black, and Steve Carell.
  • Kevdo.com
Some additional sites from the mind of Kevin Crossman. Some gems like Lip Balm Anonymous and the search for the Ultimate MaiTai!
  • Cape Cod Coffee Cakes
My cousin’s company… I know I am biases, but believe me the coffee cakes are awesome!

I almost never comment, however i did a few searching and wound up here BatesCentral Blog Bills Favorite Links. And I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it’s allright. Could it be just me or does it give the impression like a few of the responses appear as if they are left by brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are posting on other social sites, I would like to follow anything new you have to post. Could you make a list of every one of all your shared sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

When you talk with your pool contractor here are several specifics to discuss with your ex because they relate for your renovation project:Do the tiles need to be removed, replaced, upgraded. However, up to we’d like to trust this, and usually have every reason for this, the truth isn’t quite so clear-cut. This kind of liner will then be fitted from the children’s pool utilizing a proven fitting technique that sees the liner loosely presented from the pool prior to it being gradually full of water and pulled towards the pool-walls employing a special vacuum.
